i don't know if any of you read any scrapbooker's blogs -- actually, i believe only francia and i would do something like that -- but there's one blog that i constantly read up on. i was introduced to it by francia, of course. i love her style and they way she turns everyday moments into art. so if you're looking for extra reading material, check it out:
www.aliedwards.typepad.com
she has a son who has autism, which makes me feel even more connected to her. anyways...check out her projects. they're really cool.
by the way, i told my high school friends about our little project here and at first i thought they were going to laugh, but instead they though it was really cute! i think they were even a bit jealous! =)
i can't remember what i did this month, for the life of me!!!
wahhhh
it's a big priority mail box. well, not so big. and it's ghetto taped up on one side (i think...i don't actually know, because i didn't watch the lady tape it up. she's just so nice, so i trusted that she would take care of it for me. she even stamped fragile three times on the box.) i had to get a bigger box at the post office, so i didn't have it addressed yet...and then i sealed the box before i remembered to put your address on it! so i had to open the box again to get your address.
it says 2-day on my confirmation receipt...so i'm guessing that's thursday?! you can track it if you wish: 0305 2710 0003 4229 5856. and if the tracking device says it's somewhere in the pacific ocean, than i gave you the wrong number (i'm also mailing something cute to my nephew in hawaii). the other number i have is 0305 2710 0003 4229 5849.
anyway, i think em is the winner for the month of february in terms of being the first to send out her journal! :)
i wanted to extend my sincerest thank yous for this invitation :) when my ate first asked me if i would consider being a part of this experience, i was very surprised and excited to receive the invite. i have to admit, i was kinda jealous when i saw ate designing her journal and heard the themes and ideas being passed around. but now i get to be a part of it! yay!
...now the pressure of coming up with a theme. it's in the works, i promise! i'll post it as soon as i get it articulated.
thanks again, ladies! have a great week :)
peace&love from montana --- wing
it's true... I check this blog practically every night. It may not seem like it b/c I don't have blogs for every day that I have checked, but it is true. The only reason why there aren't daily blogs from me is because I don't want everyone to know that I am checking every night....(the truth comes out). So, I will be blogging more often... nothing more to hide.
So anyway, tomorrow I will be going to Disneyland and California Adventure to watch plays and shows... the Aladdin showtimes are (I think): 12:20, 1:50, 4:05. I'm going to try to make the 12:20 showing if anybody would like to join me.
rowena will be taking joycee's place on the mailing list...so meechy, you will be mailing your journals to wing. and wing, you will be mailing your journals to angie. fair enough?
have a great weekend everyone!
i FINALLY stood in line at the post office to mail the journal to you. the very nice postlady said that it should arrive tomorrow.
tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow...
and if you want to track it, because you're bored, the number is: 0305 2710 0003 4229 5696. hey! i was just looking at my delivery confirmation receipt and the postlady wrote kRIsten as the recipient.
hope you all had a great weekend! i did, because the patriots DIDN't win! :)
i hope i can handle.
sorry for the delay, joyce. it'll be sent out monday because loG retreat is this weekend.
i'm a little PO'd about the whole situation. whatever.
have a great weekend, ladies.
i got your journal!!
i hope i don't mess it up with my non-artsy pages!! hehe!!!
oh i'm so excited! yayyy voice of ... .
and, i think i stole something from the post office, knowingly and yet unknowingly. =/ you know how you can buy envelopes from the p.o. or just get those free one's? well, i picked up one that you were supposed to pay for and didn't pay for it. i just went to the self-serve stamp thing and turned it in. i wasn't sure but i didn't think to ask. so i just took it. damn. i'm such a thief.
but the good news is that it's on its way!!!
and marites i got yours and it's spectacular! i'm really having to think deeply about the questions and topics in yours -- very meditative and refreshing. i love it. i'm already done with 3 out of the 5 pages! =)
on a side note, i would suggest putting your journals in a small box or wrapping it up with bubble wrap or something. apparently, my mailman thinks he can stuff big ass packages in my teeny little mail slot and have everything be ok. i don't want your journals to get ruined when they get up here (sorry, marites...the cover to yours is a little bent!m =/) so try and protect it if that's ok with you guys.
can i just say that i'm really happy with the bscottj thing. it has been quite therapeutic for me and i've been really in need of a creative release. i love putting stuff together for the journals. it's so fun and it really gives me a chance to explore my creativity. yay!
i'm quite terrible with the hoarding. i've got tons of scrapjunk in the scraproom...half of the stuff i didn't even realize i had. i went shopping at target the other week for embellies and came home with a few more things than i had planned on. and then i find (after i've opened the stuff) that i already had items that were similar (call it duplicate, just of a diff. brand) in my stash!
i was hoping to have had mailed out my journal already...but i haven't had a chance to get to the post office at all this week! things have been really busy at work lately so hopefully tomorrow is the day! sorry, kirsten! i guess regi takes the cake for being the first to mail hers out (and it arriving promptly at its destination). yay, regi!
on that note, i just have to share a conversation kathsters and i had on aim yesterday. i didn't save the conversation, so it's not verbatim...but here's the gist:
kathee: i was going to mail my journal
i had it ready and everything
and then reg's journal came in the mail
for meechy
and now i feel inadequate
you guys are VERY serious
me: LOL.
kathee: i'm going to step it up hardcore (something like that)
wish me luck
i'm headed to michael's
me again: LOL.
and i was seriously LOLing. and if i hadn't been at work, i think i would've probably been ROFLing. :)
you girls are such fun! so add that to the list...dorky, cute, fun!
It's cool, Ang. I'm a freakin' lagger, too. Sorry, Marites!
What if we do mini-themes on this blog. Like... blog topics! (Oh, the days of yore!)
Blog topic of the week: Biscotti
(LOL)
I'M SORRY!! I know, I know! Ill mail it by Friday (hopefully!). OK...sooooory!
Today was my first day off for the week, considering the whole week last week I spent with my face in the toilet..... so I made a list of "to do's" and mailing off the journal was on the top of the list. (by the way... true story... honest) So I went down to Chino Hills to spend some time with my parents. So I decided to take my mom along with me to run some errands... like going to the post office. As my mom and I were talking in the car, just catching up, we encountered mucho traffic on the main street in front of the post office. "oh well"... gotta deliver the package, right? So my mom and I maneuvered our way through the traffic and construction zones just barely making it into the parking lot. "phewwwwww".... finally out of danger.... or was I? Well... it wasn't exactly danger that I encountered... it was more like stupidity. I had my journal all ready and bubble wrapped in a nice little package..... but no address. So I called everyone I could think of that may possibly know your address.... but no one picked up... which is understandable because it was the middle of the afternoon. But bottom line is... I still have the package. "woe is me..... woe is you.... so sorry" But Friday is THE DAY. I promise!
and joyce, i still have not sent it out; i had a kindergarten teachers meeting today. ahh, i'm super laggin'.
that is all.
i promise to send mine out this weekend. it's only cuz i had to change mine last minute and then i got swamped with work! so much for being done on time. =/ i was sooo finished, too! anyways, my theme changed...will post more info later.
can't wait to get this cj party started!!!
we're so dorky. cute. but dorky.
So just sent mine this afternoon 01.08.07. And it's making its first official "travel" to the OC. Im super super super excited. So I have a confession to make. I was gonna be a rule breaker, and hand deliver it to Meechy (sorry fran). But I thought about it more...and I didn't want to cheat her out of receiving the CJ's for the first time. And since everyone seems to be a tad behind with the whole deadline, I figure what's a few days. Right? So it's off.
Theme Change
So I've changed my theme ladies. It is now-
"In Your Own Words: Imparting Wisdom."
Basically, you can use any layout (via quotes, phrases, pictures, passages) to impart any kind of wisdom that you've picked up over the years. The only request I have is that you have one part of your section, where you actually journal your own orginal thoughts and words about some type of WISDOM. It will make more sense when you read instructions page. But if it's confusing just give me a call!
Happy Journaling BSCOTTJers!!!
and reg, i got your message on saturday. sorry i wasn't able to call back.
hope all you ladies are doing well. take care.
So this will be mucho fun! Just remember this is supposed to be FUN... no stress intended, okay? ---this message is actually meant for me too.... because I admit....it was a little stressful at the beginning.... but it'll be FUN FUN FUN.
Ok- I think I'm a little delirious from the pepto-- gotta go!
